How does it work?
The loris that live in captivity in our country are often given fruit and lori-juice on the side. A disadvantage of this is that loripap does not keep long. Especially in warmer weather, the time it stays fresh is shorter. The bacteria and moulds that develop then can make the birds ill. In young birds it can even lead to death.
Wisbroek Lory Powder can be fed dry. This significantly reduces the risk of mold. Lory Powder contains all nutrients that nectar-eating birds need. The powder is similar to pollen, which makes it more quickly accepted by the birds.
Advice for use
To get your birds used to Wisbroek Lory Powder, we recommend first mixing it with water and making a thick porridge of it. Another possibility is to sprinkle the powder on fresh fruit. Next to the porridge or fruit, place a bowl with the dry Lory Powder, so the birds can start eating it.
After about a week, the porridge or fruit can be gradually reduced until the birds have completely switched to the dry diet.
Wisbroek Lory Powder can be offered unlimitedly. In addition, some fresh fruit can be given daily.
Make sure that besides the food there is always plenty of fresh, clean drinking water available for the birds. In the beginning, it is important that the water and the powder are close to each other. After the acclimatisation period, place the food and water further apart so that less powder ends up in the water.
Who is it suitable for?
Wisbroek Lory Powder is suitable for all nectar-eating birds, such as all Loris, hanging parrots and swift parrots.
